The new Skoda Peaq electric SUV: First images and technical data of the flagship SUV

Skoda Peaq: The new electric giant from Mlada Boleslav redefines the standards of luxury and space

Mlada Boleslav, March 30, 2026 – Czech manufacturer Skoda today took a decisive step towards the future of electric mobility by publishing the first official images and full technical specifications of its new flagship model: the Skoda Peaq. This large SUV, derived from the spectacular Vision 7S concept, is not only the largest car ever produced by Skoda, but also a technological manifesto intended to compete in the premium electric vehicle segment.

"Modern Solid" design and an imposing presence

With a length of almost 4.9 meters and a generous wheelbase of 2,965 mm, the Skoda Peaq dominates the manufacturer's range, being positioned clearly above the current Kodiaq. The exterior design marks the debut of the "Modern Solid" visual language, characterized by minimalist, but extremely sharp lines.

The focal point of the front is the new Tech Deck Face, a modern interpretation of the traditional grille, which integrates five vertical slots illuminated by LEDs. The higher versions benefit from state-of-the-art Matrix LED headlights with 18 segments of adaptive lighting. An absolute novelty for the brand is the retractable handles, which hide in the doors to optimize the aerodynamic coefficient, as well as the huge panoramic roof equipped with the Dynamic Shade Control function, which allows digital adjustment of the light received in the passenger compartment.

The interior: A "lounge on wheels" with up to 7 seats

The Škoda Peaq has been designed for maximum versatility, being available in both 5- and 7-seat configurations. Storage space is a record for the segment: the 5-seat version offers a 1,010-litre boot, while the 7-seat version has 299 litres (with all seats up), plus a 37-litre front compartment (“frunk”).

The interior can be customized through five design packages (Design Selections), from the sustainable Loft variant, which uses recycled materials, to the luxurious Suite with Techtona upholstery (high-quality artificial leather). Technology is omnipresent: a 10-inch digital instrument cluster is complemented by a 13.6-inch vertically positioned central screen and a head-up display with augmented reality.

A major innovation is the Relax Package, which transforms the car into a relaxing space during charging sessions. The AGR-certified seats offer massage and adjustable leg support, while the premium audio system by Sonos ensures an exceptional acoustic experience.

Performance: Three versions and a range of over 600 km

Built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the Skoda Peaq will be available in three engine variants:

  1. Peaq 60: The entry-level version, with a 63 kWh battery and 204 HP.
  2. Peaq 90: The optimized variant for long distances, with a 91 kWh battery (net) and a range exceeding 600 kilometers (WLTP).
  3. Peaq 90x: The top of the range with all-wheel drive, which develops 299 HP and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.

Charging capabilities are equally impressive: the 90 and 90x variants can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes. In addition, Peaq introduces the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function for the first time, allowing users to power external devices (such as electric bikes or camping equipment) directly from the car battery.

Estimated price list for the Romanian market (VAT included)

For the Romanian market, the price of the new Skoda Peaq electric SUV will reflect its positioning as a flagship, ranking above the Enyaq model.

Although the official price lists for the Romanian dealerships will be published towards the end of 2026, based on current market data and the group's pricing strategy, here are our estimates:

Model Variant Battery (net) Estimated Starting Price (incl. VAT)
Peaq 60 63 kWh from ~€48,500
Peaq 90 91 kWh from ~€56,000
Peaq 90x (AWD) 91 kWh from ~€61,000
Peaq Sportline 91 kWh from ~€64,500

Factors that will influence the final price:

  • Rabla Plus Program: If the program is active at the time of deliveries (early 2027), buyers could benefit from a subsidy that would lower the purchase price.
  • 7-seat configuration: This will most likely be an optional feature that will add around €1,000 – €1,500 to the base price.
  • Design Selection Packages: Moving from the standard version (Loft) to the premium versions (Suite or Sportline) can add between €2,000 and €5,000, depending on the materials chosen (Alcantara, Techtona eco-leather).

The Skoda Peaq is designed to be a more affordable alternative to models like the Kia EV9, Volvo EX90 or Hyundai Ioniq 9, which have starting prices that often exceed the €70,000 threshold. Thus, the Peaq has every chance of becoming one of the most competitive 7-seat electric SUVs on the local market.

Release and availability

The Skoda Peaq will be officially launched on the market towards the end of this year, and the Sportline version, with a more aggressive look, up to 21-inch wheels and black exterior accents, will be available from the start. With this model, Skoda is not only expanding its electric portfolio, but is also launching a direct attack on large electric SUVs, relying on its traditional mix of generous space and “Simply Clever” solutions.
