Important changes for the Audi Q3 - complete digitalization and improved performance, from 44,600 euros
Audi is bringing a series of important updates to the Q3, the most affordable SUV in the German manufacturer's portfolio. The changes target both the digitalization of the cabin and a reconfiguration of the standard equipment list, aimed at offering more value to customers straight from the factory.
Technological premiere: Dedicated screen for the front passenger
The most visible innovation in the interior is the introduction of a 10.9-inch multimedia screen for the right-hand passenger. This is the first time that the Q3 benefits from this technology, taken from models in higher classes. In order not to endanger road safety, the screen has an active image filtering function (privacy filter), so that the driver is not distracted while driving by the content played on it.
Alongside the new display, Audi is introducing a completely new multimedia system in the Q3, based on the Android Automotive architecture. The on-board experience is rounded out by:
- A redesigned steering wheel, equipped with physical and haptic controls.
- A wireless induction charging area with increased power to 25 Watts (from 15 W).
- USB-C ports on the back capable of delivering 100 Watts of power, allowing for fast charging of laptops or large tablets.
Premium features now included in the base price
Audi has simplified the car's configuration structure and decided to include a number of highly requested features, previously only available as options, directly as standard. Every Audi Q3 delivered from now on will include ex-factory:
- Heated seats for the front seats
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- A new generation smart key
- Reversing camera
For the remaining optional equipment, customers will have to choose between just three large and simplified packages: Tech, Tech plus and Tech pro. These bring together equipment such as improved suspension, windows with superior sound insulation, the Sonos premium audio system, lumbar support for the seats and the hill start assistant (Hold Assist).
Autopilot based on network data and "Valet Mode" function
The assistance technology has also received a significant upgrade. Adaptive Cruise Assist now uses real-time online data to adjust the speed and distance to other road users. Furthermore, the system uses "swarm" data (information collected anonymously from other interconnected vehicles in traffic) to ensure extremely precise guidance on the width and length of the lane.
The parking assistance system also receives the Valet Mode function, which can be controlled via the myAudi mobile app. When the car is handed over to a third party for parking (for example, at a restaurant or hotel), the owner can remotely lock the screens and physical buttons in the passenger compartment, thus protecting their personal navigation data or saved contacts.
Considerably increased towing capacity for the Q3 e-hybrid
The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, marketed as the Audi Q3 e-hybrid, is becoming considerably more practical for utility or holiday activities. Its maximum towing capacity has been increased by 600 kilograms, now reaching a total of 2,000 kilograms.
