New 100 Horsepower Dacia Spring: Orders open in France, Romania to follow
The 100 HP revolution: Dacia Spring receives a "boost" of power and LFP technology
Dacia continues to redefine affordable electric mobility, officially launching a surprisingly high-performance version of the Spring model on Western European markets. Although it visually retains the lines of the recent facelift, major technical changes are hidden under the hood and under the floor that radically transform the driving experience.
Double power and next-generation battery
The big news is the 100 hp (75 kW) electric motor, a spectacular increase over the base 45 hp or 65 hp version. This version not only brings speed, but also a paradigm shift in terms of energy storage.
The new 100 hp Spring abandons the classic NMC (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt) chemistry in favor of an LFP (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) battery. Although it has a slightly reduced capacity (24.3 kWh versus 26.8 kWh), LFP technology offers crucial advantages:
- Durability: Withstands multiple charge/discharge cycles.
- Safety: Superior thermal stability.
- Charging speed: Allows for faster charging at DC stations, going from 20% to 80% in just 29 minutes.
Performance: From "city car" to "urban sprint"
The official figures confirm an impressive leap in vehicle dynamics. The 100 HP Dacia Spring manages the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 9.6 seconds, being over 4 seconds faster than the 65 HP version. The autonomy remains constant at 225 km (WLTP regime), thanks to an efficient consumption of only 12.4 kWh/100 km.
| Specification | Dacia Spring 65 hp | Dacia Spring 100 hp |
| Acceleration 0-100 km/h (62 mph) | 13.7 seconds | 9.6 seconds |
| Battery Type | 26.8 kWh (NMC) | 24.3 kWh (LFP) |
| Fast Charging 20-80% (DC) | ~45 minutes | 29 minutes |
| Combined Power Consumption | 13.5 kWh/100 km | 12.4 kWh/100 km |
| Range (WLTP Cycle) | 220 - 225 km | 225 km |
When does it arrive in Romania and at what price?
Although orders have already been opened in France and the UK at the end of December 2025, customers in Romania have little to wait.
- Availability: Dacia is expected to open order lists for the 100 HP version in Romania immediately after the winter holidays, in the first part of January 2026. The first units could be delivered towards the end of spring.
- Estimated price: In France, the starting price for the 100 hp version (available on the top trim level, Extreme) is 19,700 euros. It is expected that in Romania the price will be similar, around the threshold of 19,500 - 19,900 euros (without subsidies).
This new engine positions the Spring not just as a budget solution, but as a real and bustling alternative for modern urban traffic, capable of keeping up much more easily with the flow of vehicles on extra-urban roads.
