Massive service recall: Stellantis recalls over 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickups due to seat belt issue
The Stellantis automotive group has announced a global service recall campaign targeting over 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickups. The cause of the recall is a defect in the rear seat belt fastening system, which can endanger passengers in the event of a crash.
What fault was identified?
The campaign targets Ram 1500 models manufactured between 2019 and 2026. According to internal investigations, the seat belt buckle anchor point — for the center seat or the one directly behind the driver — may not have been properly secured to the body structure during the assembly process.
In the event of an accident, this insufficient anchorage reduces the effectiveness of the seat belt and increases the risk of injury for the occupants of the second row of seats.
Safety record: Stellantis representatives stated that they are aware of only one case of minor injury that could be related to this technical issue, with no deaths recorded.

- Individual Imports / Used Vehicle Market purchased directly from the US or Canada.
Of the approximately 75,000 units affected globally outside North America, a limited number of such vehicles (in the hundreds) are circulating on Romanian roads.
