After a strategic one-year break, the British brand Jaguar makes a spectacular return to the global automotive spotlight by presenting the new Type 01. The model represents a radical turning point for the British manufacturer, being a 100% electric Gran Turismo of extreme performance, which officially becomes the most aerodynamic and most powerful production car ever created in the brand's history.
Sculptural exterior design and advanced aerodynamic package
The new Jaguar Type 01 displays the dramatic proportions of an exclusive GT, measuring 5.2 metres long, 1.4 metres low and with a generous 3.2 metre wheelbase. The profile is dominated by an unusually long bonnet and massive 23-inch wheels.
An unconventional technical and aesthetic choice is the complete absence of the classic rear window. Instead of the rear glass, Jaguar has integrated a high-resolution camera system that transmits images in real time to a dedicated display in the interior.
Aerodynamic efficiency was the central priority of the development team, achieving the best coefficient in the brand's history: 0.23 Cd. The active aerodynamic package includes:
- Smart grille flaps: Installed at the front, these automatically open or close to manage airflow and component cooling.
- Active rear spoiler: Features automatic operation and can be configured in three distinct positions to optimize stability at high speeds.
Futuristic cabin: 2+2 configuration and audio premiere
Inside, the Type 01 features an avant-garde 2+2 seating architecture. The interior space is symmetrically divided lengthwise by a central “spine” that separates the driver’s area from the passenger area.
The command post benefits from a high level of digitalization:
- Central multimedia screen: 24-inch diagonal for controlling all navigation and infotainment functions.
- Climate control display: Dedicated 7-inch screen for managing thermal comfort.
In terms of acoustics, the new model marks an absolute first in the automotive industry by integrating a Panoramic Soundbar system, designed to provide a state-of-the-art immersive audio experience.
850V architecture, 1,030 HP and ultra-fast charging
The production prototype is developed on the new dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), which operates at a high voltage of 850 Volts. The propulsion system consists of three electric motors, delivering hypercar-class performance:

Energy is provided by a battery pack with a capacity of 118 kWh, which ensures a maximum range of up to 720 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
Thanks to the 850V architecture, the battery supports ultra-fast DC charging with powers of up to 350 kW. Under these conditions, a charge of just 13 minutes adds an additional range of 321 kilometers.

The new Jaguar Type 01 will be produced exclusively in the UK, with international orders opening in early 2027.
In the UK, the model will have a starting price of 130,000 pounds. For the Romanian market, based on the exchange rate and local taxes, the estimated starting price will be approximately 150,000 - 155,000 euros (VAT included).
