Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4Matic+ 2027 can be ordered in Romania: Specifications, prices and performance
The Affalterbach-based performance brand is entering a new era with the opening of orders on the Romanian market for the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4Matic+. Initially presented at the beginning of July, the model redefines the high-performance compact segment, abandoning the classic 2.0-liter thermal engine in favor of a radical 100% electric architecture.
The new model is available in two body styles – Sedan and Shooting Brake – combining the elegant lines of a coupe with impressive power resources and superior efficiency. Prices in the local market start at 78,100 euros including VAT for the Sedan version and 79,250 euros for the Shooting Brake option.
Exceptional technical architecture: 680 hp from three electric motors
The centerpiece of the new CLA 45 4Matic+ is the latest generation of drivetrain. Instead of the classic single-motor configuration per axle, AMG engineers have integrated three Axial Flux electric motors – a technology derived from racing:
- An electric motor located on the front axle (which can independently deliver up to 225 kW / 306 hp).
- Two compact electric motors located on the rear axle, allowing ultra-precise torque vectoring control.
The combination develops a combined maximum output of 680 hp (500 kW) and a massive 1,760 Nm of torque. This power is intelligently managed by the fully variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system, which can instantly change the distribution of power between the front and rear axles.
Supercar performance: 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds
Thanks to the instantaneous torque delivery and axial flow technology, the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 offers breathtaking acceleration:
- 0 - 100 km/h: achieved in just 3.0 seconds (or even 2.7 seconds with the 1-foot rollout measurement method).
- Top speed: is electronically limited to 250 km/h in the standard version, but can be increased to 270 km/h if the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package is selected.
The dynamic behavior is supported by the AMG Ride Control adaptive sports suspension, high-performance brakes with 390 mm discs at the front and 6-piston fixed calipers, as well as an advanced regenerative system capable of major deceleration without operating the hydraulic system.
94 kWh battery, 800V system and range of up to 670 km
In addition to its clear focus on performance, the new model is designed to be an excellent long-distance partner. Under the floor is a lithium-ion battery with a usable capacity of 94 kWh.
- Autonomy (WLTP): up to 670 kilometers for the Sedan version and 640 kilometers for the Shooting Brake version.
- 800 V architecture: allows for a maximum direct current (DC) charging power of up to 330 kW.
- Fast-charge charging time (10% - 80%): only 22 minutes under ideal conditions.
- Fast recovery rate: a 10-minute stop at an ultra-fast station adds an additional range of approximately 270 km.
The thermal package includes a multi-source heat pump as standard that efficiently manages battery and passenger compartment temperature, optimizing battery preconditioning before recharging stations.
Aggressive exterior design and active aerodynamics
Visually, the CLA 45 4Matic+ retains the athletic profile of the German sedan-coupe, adding the unmistakable touches of the AMG division:
- Front: AMG-lined radiator grille with vertical stripes (optionally illuminated), bonnet with accentuated "power domes" and widened wheel arches.
- Active aerodynamic elements: the front air vents close automatically up to 250 km/h to reduce the aerodynamic coefficient (Cd of just 0.23 on the Sedan), opening in 8 steps only when components require cooling.
- Profile and rear: carbon fiber spoiler fixed to the trunk lid, 6-fin rear diffuser and 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels offered as standard (or 20-inch optional).
Driver-oriented interior and MB.OS technology
Inside, the cockpit combines digital luxury with the typical AMG super sports atmosphere:
- Digital displays: the digital instrument panel has a diagonal of 10.25 inches, while the central touchscreen measures 12.3 inches, running the latest generation of the MB.OS operating system. The system integrates virtual assistance with artificial intelligence and specific applications such as the AMG Performance Menu and AMG Track Pace.
- Steering Wheel and Seats: AMG Performance steering wheel covered in Nappa leather with integrated satellite controls, heated sports front seats with increased lateral support and high-quality synthetic leather upholstery.
- Rear configuration: the car offers individual rear seats with electric adjustments.
