Official start for the second Rabla 2026 session, registrations remain open until the end of the year or when funds run out
The Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) has launched a long-awaited new stage within the Rabla 2026 Program. The measure supports individuals who missed the first session, making substantial funds available for the renewal of the car fleet.
Drivers who want to give up an old car and purchase a new vehicle have received a new opportunity. Starting Monday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00, the Administration of the Environmental Fund (AFM) officially opened a new registration session within the popular Rabla Program. This additional stage is dedicated exclusively to individuals who were unable to register in the first round of this year.
Generous budget redistributed across vehicle categories
For this new session, AFM allocated a total budget of 93,737,000 lei, an amount intended to stimulate the automotive market and reduce polluting emissions by decommissioning old vehicles.
The money was strategically distributed depending on the type of motorization and mobility desired by the beneficiaries:
- 70,312,000 lei – directed towards the purchase of new cars equipped with classic and hybrid thermal engines;
- 20,450,000 lei – allocated to plug-in hybrid cars (PHEV), 100% electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles;
- 2,975,000 lei – reserved for lovers of two-wheeled transport, namely thermal and electric motorcycles.
Value of eco-tickets in 2026
Individuals who register for this session and comply with the criteria in the funding guide will be able to benefit from eco-tickets adapted to the chosen technology:
- 18,500 lei for the purchase of a fully electric or hydrogen-powered car;
- 15,000 lei for a plug-in hybrid car (PHEV) or for an electric motorcycle;
- 12,000 lei for a car equipped with a conventional hybrid engine system;
- 10,000 lei for cars and motorcycles equipped with classic thermal engines.
Deadlines and recommendations for applicants
The new registration session will remain open on the AFM dedicated platform until December 31, 2026, 23:59. However, representatives of the institution point out that the session may end early if the available funds are exhausted before the deadline. Gaining time and preparing documents in advance are essential for those targeting a certain category of vehicles, especially given the high interest in previous years for the electric and hybrid segments.
Through this new infusion of capital, the authorities hope to maintain the accelerated pace of renewal of the national car fleet, while offering more environmentally friendly mobility alternatives.
