The new Audi Q4 e-tron facelift: Performance of up to 340 hp and deliveries this summer

Audi Q4 e-tron 2027: Major technological leap for the brand's best-selling electric SUV. Premiere: bidirectional charging

The Ingolstadt-based automaker has lifted the curtain on the new Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback facelift (model year 2027), bringing a series of critical updates that transform the compact SUV from a sales leader into a technological benchmark. With a digitalized design, a screen-dominated cabin and V2H technology that can power an entire home, the new Q4 e-tron promises to redefine the standards of the premium electric segment.

The Audi Q4 e-tron is not just another model in the German lineup; it is the "best-seller" that democratized electric mobility for fans of the brand. For the 2027 version, Audi did not settle for just aesthetic touches, but implemented profound changes to the propulsion system, energy management and digital interaction.

Exterior design: Customizable digital lighting

At first glance, the new Q4 e-tron impresses with its Singleframe grille, now completely closed and painted in body color, giving it a more fluid and futuristic look. But the visual spectacle is provided by the new digital LED headlights. These feature segmented optical blocks that allow the driver to choose between four different light signatures directly from the MMI system, a function that was previously reserved for higher segments.

At the rear, the taillights use second-generation OLED technology, with 284 individual segments, capable of generating complex animations and warning vehicles behind with dynamic light signals if they get too close to the stationary car.

The "Digital Stage" Interior: Passenger Display and Artificial Intelligence

The cabin has been completely redesigned under the "Digital Stage" concept. The pièce de résistance is the addition, for the first time, of an optional 12-inch screen for the front passenger, allowing them to manage navigation or multimedia content without distracting the driver.

The in-car technology takes a giant step forward with the integration of ChatGPT into the Audi voice assistant. The system can now answer complex questions in natural language and control car functions much more intuitively. The center console has also been optimized, now offering two wireless charging areas for phones, equipped with an active cooling system to prevent overheating during intensive use.

Performance and Engines: More power, increased efficiency

Audi offers four drivetrain options, covering a wide range of needs:

  1. Q4 e-tron (Base): 204 hp and 350 Nm, rear-wheel drive. Acceleration 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.
  2. Q4 e-tron performance: 285 HP and 545 Nm. A balanced variant that reaches 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.
  3. Q4 e-tron quattro: 299 hp, all-wheel drive, sprint in 6.2 seconds.
  4. Q4 e-tron quattro performance: The top of the range with 340 hp, capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

The maximum speed was electronically limited to 160 km/h for the basic version and 180 km/h for the rest of the versions, prioritizing autonomy.

Autonomy and the Bidirectional Charging Revolution

Thanks to software optimizations and new thermal management, the range has been significantly increased. The more aerodynamic Sportback variant can now travel up to 592 km (WLTP) on a single charge of the 82 kWh battery (77 kWh net).

But the game-changing innovation is bidirectional charging.

  • V2L (Vehicle-to-Load): The car can power external consumers (power tools, laptops or even an electric bicycle) through a dedicated socket.
  • V2H (Vehicle-to-Home): In certain European markets, the Q4 e-tron can become a giant battery for the home. In the event of a power outage or to optimize energy costs, the car can supply electricity directly to the home network.

Fast charging has also been improved to 185 kW, which allows the recovery of 180 km of autonomy in just 10 minutes of parking at an HPC station.

Top safety as standard

Audi has not compromised on safety either. In addition to the classic assistance systems, the new facelift brings the active collision avoidance assistant and a parking assistant with improved distance display as standard. Furthermore, via data from the cloud, the lane keeping system can now work even where road markings are incomplete or absent.

Starting at 47,500 Euros: How much will it cost in Romania?

Although exact prices for the local market are influenced by specific features and delivery fees, the benchmark values announced for Europe suggest an extremely competitive entry threshold for the premium segment:

  • Audi Q4 e-tron (SUV): starts at 47,500 Euros.
  • Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron: starts at 49,450 Euros.

In Romania, the final price for individual customers can be significantly reduced through the Rabla Plus program. Given the financing thresholds for 2026/2027, buyers can expect a subsidy that will bring the actual purchase price below the 43,000 Euro threshold, turning the new Q4 e-tron into a solid alternative even for volume models.

Availability: Release schedule. Those who want to be among the first owners of the new facelift won't have long to wait:

  1. Order opening: Audi will open the order system in May 2026.
  2. First deliveries: Units will begin arriving in showrooms in Romania and to the first customers starting this summer.

Why is it worth the wait? Beyond the modernized aesthetics, the new model comes with a potentially higher resale value thanks to V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) technology and new batteries with optimized preconditioning. For the Romanian market, where the charging infrastructure is booming, the improved charging speed (185 kW) and the real autonomy of over 500 km make the Q4 e-tron a vehicle capable of crossing the country with just one short stop at ultra-fast stations.

Purchase tip: The S Line equipment remains the recommendation of automotive journalists, bringing not only a more aggressive look, but also silver protective elements that highlight the new design lines of the German SUV.

Conclusion

The Audi Q4 e-tron 2027 is not just an aesthetic update; it is a statement of technological maturity. With a range that flirts with the 600 km threshold and the ability to energetically support a home, the German SUV consolidates its leading position in an increasingly competitive market. The new models will be available for order starting this summer, with first deliveries expected for the third quarter.

What do you think of Audi's new pricing strategy, considering that the new Q4 e-tron now offers technologies previously reserved only for luxury models like the Q8 e-tron?
