ELECTRIC REVOLUTION IN BEIJING: Porsche Unleashes New 2027 Cayenne Coupe Electric – Up to 1,156 HP and Hypercar Performance
BEIJING – In a spectacular setting, under the spotlights of the Beijing Auto Show, Porsche marked a historic moment in its electrification strategy: the launch of the new Cayenne Coupe Electric 2027. With an imposing presence and figures that defy the laws of physics for an SUV, the new model promises to redefine the luxury segment, combining the sporting DNA of the legendary 911 with the versatility of a family vehicle.
Wind-sculpted design: Aerodynamics and dimensions
The new Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric retains the SUV's footprint (4,985 mm long and 1,980 mm wide), but its profile is much more aggressive. The Stuttgart designers lowered the car's height by 24 millimeters, reaching 1,650 mm, giving it a "flyline" look inspired by the brand's sports models.
The engineers' efforts focused on efficiency: the drag coefficient has been reduced from 0.25 to an impressive 0.23. This performance was made possible by a complete redesign of the rear, from the A-pillar to the rear, where an adaptive spoiler is integrated into the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) system. Even the windscreen has been optimised to reduce drag, directly contributing to the extended range.
High-tech interior and uncompromising utility
Although the interior adopts the modern digital operating concept found on the new Porsche models, the Coupe version increases the standard equipment. The Sport Chrono package and the panoramic roof are included ex works, providing an exclusive atmosphere.
The seat configuration is flexible (2 or 2+1 seats), and the boot remains generous for a coupe, with a volume between 534 and 1,347 liters. A practical novelty is the 90-liter "frunk" (front boot), ideal for charging cables. In addition, for those who do not want to give up utility, the car can tow trailers of up to 3.5 tons.
Three power versions: From efficiency to brute force
Porsche is launching the new model in three distinct variants, all equipped with all-wheel drive and cutting-edge technology:
- Cayenne Coupe Electric (Base): Offers 408 hp (442 hp in Launch Control mode). Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h. Promised range is 661 km.
- Cayenne S Coupe Electric: Rated power of 544 hp, rising to 666 hp with Launch Control. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in 3.8 seconds, with a maximum range of 668 km.
- Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric: The top of the range develops a colossal 1,156 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque. The figures are worthy of a racetrack: 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h. The range is 628 km.
800V architecture and record charging
All versions are equipped with a massive 113 kWh battery. Thanks to its 800V architecture, the Cayenne Coupe Electric allows DC charging with powers of up to 400 kW (under optimal conditions), an industry benchmark that allows energy recovery in record time. Optionally, 11 kW inductive charging (wireless) is also available, a technological first for this model.
Agility and Lightweight Sport Package
For purists, Porsche offers the Lightweight Sport package, which reduces the car's weight by 17.6 kg by using carbon for the roof, 22-inch wheels and specific interior finishes. The adaptive PASM suspension is standard, while the innovative Porsche Active Ride system (which keeps the body perfectly flat when cornering) is available on the S and Turbo variants.
Price and Availability in Romania
The new Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric can already be ordered through Porsche centers in Romania. The first units are expected to arrive in showrooms starting in the second half of the year, with deliveries planned depending on the chosen configurations.
