Zeekr 7GT enters Romania with a starting price under 47,000 euros
Yesterday, the Romanian electric car landscape received a serious injection of adrenaline and cutting-edge Chinese technology. Zeekr, the premium brand in the portfolio of the giant Geely (which also owns Volvo and Polestar), officially launched the new Zeekr 7GT on the local market.
If until now the electric car market was dominated by the dilemma between "affordable price" and "performance", the 7GT seems determined to erase this boundary. Presented at an exclusive event in Bucharest, the new model promises to become a nightmare for European and American competitors.
Architecture at 800V: The future charges in 15 minutes
The big hit of the Zeekr 7GT is not just its aggressive “shooting brake” design, but what’s under the hood. Built on an 800V architecture, this model allows for charging speeds that make your coffee break seem too long. Under optimal conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 13-15 minutes, a figure that puts direct pressure on Romania’s ultra-fast charging infrastructure.
Three versions, one ambition: Performance
Zeekr didn't come with half measures, offering three distinct variants to cover all needs, from stylish urban commuting to thrills on the track:
| Version | Power | Battery | Range (WLTP) | Price (incl. VAT) |
| Core RWD | 421 hp | 75 kWh | 519 km | €46,490 |
| Long Range RWD | 421 hp | 100 kWh | 655 km | €53,890 |
| Privilege AWD | 646 hp | 100 kWh | 558 km | €60,490 |
Interior: "Level Up" Technology
If the exterior is eye-catching, the interior is where Zeekr wants to convince you that luxury doesn't have to cost six figures. The base version, Core, already comes with features that are expensive options at other brands: Matrix LED headlights, a huge panoramic roof, and a digital arsenal consisting of a 15-inch central display and a 13-inch instrument cluster.
For those who choose Long Range, the experience becomes immersive. We're talking about a 35.5-inch Head-up Display with Augmented Reality, which projects navigation directly onto the asphalt, and an audio system with 23 acoustic enclosures, ready to transform the cabin into a concert hall.
The top of the range, Privilege AWD, is not just about speed (0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds), but also about extreme refinement. This version adds:
- Active air suspension for impeccable comfort on our roads.
- Seats with ventilation and massage function.
- High-performance braking system with orange calipers, visible through the sports rims.
The verdict from the debut
With a starting price of under 47,000 euros, the Zeekr 7GT enters the ring directly with the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6, but adds a quality of materials and a technical platform (800V) that, until recently, were reserved only for luxury models like the Porsche Taycan.
It remains to be seen how quickly the Romanian public will adopt this new brand, but the numbers are undoubtedly on the side of the Chinese.
Which of the above versions do you think would suit your driving style better: the efficiency of Long Range or the pure adrenaline of Privilege?
