Ferrari Luce sold out for 2026 in just two months, despite wave of criticism
Although the unveiling of the first all-electric Ferrari in history caused a real earthquake among purists and was met with a wave of negative reactions, the financial pragmatism of the Maranello brand has once again spoken. Only two months after its world premiere, the Ferrari Luce has already achieved its entire sales target set for 2026.
According to the Financial Times, the Italian manufacturer had set a production quota of just under 500 units by the end of this year, all of which have already been reserved by customers around the world. However, Ferrari representatives have not yet officially confirmed whether the model is declared completely sold-out globally for the rest of the year.
Controversial design and sparks at the top of the brand
The transition to a 100% electric powertrain wasn't the only element that sparked heated debate. The Luce's exterior design generated mixed reactions due to its unconventional lines and departure from the Italian brand's traditional mold.
Among the harshest critics was Luca di Montezemolo, the former historical head of the Ferrari brand, who publicly expressed his disappointment with the visual direction chosen for the new model.
However, the wave of negative opinions did not dampen the appetite of buyers at all. For example, at the end of June, Ferrari officially announced that all 88 copies allocated exclusively for the Chinese market had already been sold in full. In Europe, the new electric supercar has a starting price of 550,000 euros.

Underneath the hotly debated bodywork, the engineers in Maranello have equipped the model with impressive technical specifications, designed to preserve the brand's performance DNA:

- Acceleration (0–100 km/h): 2.5 seconds
- Battery capacity: 122 kWh
- Range: 530 kilometers (in the WLTP cycle)
Has any Ferrari Luce been sold in Romania?
Manufacturers of exclusive models maintain strict confidentiality regarding the exact number of cars allocated to each country and the identity of the buyers. For the time being, brand representatives have not provided official confirmation regarding the existence of orders registered directly from Romania.
However, given the history of local collectors and the speed with which Maranello's limited edition models are reserved on the domestic auto market, it is very likely that at least two or three examples from the limited batch for 2026 have already been ordered by customers in Romania. Their physical deliveries on the country's roads are expected towards the end of 2026 or early next year.
