Exterior Design: Aerosthetic and Parametric Pixels
The Ioniq 9's design, dubbed "Aerosthetic" by Hyundai, is a combination of sleek elegance and aerodynamic efficiency.
- Silhouette: The profile is distinguished by a smooth, curved roof line, which contributes to a remarkably low drag coefficient of just 0.259 Cd.
- Luminous Signature: Like its Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 siblings, the new SUV adopts the distinctive Parametric Pixels element, elegantly integrated into the front and rear light clusters, giving it a unique, futuristic identity.
- Details: The imposing front end is accentuated by the cubic projection headlights, and the side lines highlight the generous wheelbase, which, at 3,130 mm, is the largest in Hyundai's portfolio, promising exceptional interior space.
Interior and Comfort: A Lounge on Wheels
The Ioniq 9 was designed as a "space of belonging," emphasizing space, relaxation and sustainability.
- Space and Flexibility: The model is offered with three rows of seats (up to 7 seats), benefiting from a completely flat floor thanks to the E-GMP platform. The Calligraphy equipment includes Nappa leather seats and, depending on the market, can even offer “Relaxation” seats in the first two rows, with massage and swivel functions.
- Sustainable Materials: Hyundai’s commitment to the environment is evident. The interior uses eco-friendly materials such as Eco Process leather, recycled PET fabrics, natural wool and paint made partly from recycled tire waste.
- Atmosphere: An eco-suede ceiling and pillars, ambient lighting, and minimalist design contribute to a refined and relaxing lounge atmosphere.
Cutting-edge Technology and Connectivity
The cabin is dominated by advanced technology, designed for an intuitive and immersive user experience.
- Panoramic Curved Display: The dashboard integrates a curved panoramic display that combines two 12-inch screens – one for the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system.
- Hyundai AI Assistant: A notable feature is the new AI-based voice assistant, which uses technology similar to ChatGPT to enhance the driving experience and interaction.
- High-Tech Comfort: The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function allows external devices (e-bikes, camping equipment) to be powered directly from the car's battery. Also available are Digital Side Mirrors (using video cameras), active noise cancellation and a 14-speaker BOSE premium audio system.
- Flexible Charging: The E-GMP platform supports 800V and 400V architectures, providing maximum flexibility at any fast charging station.
Superior Safety (Hyundai Smart Sense)
The Ioniq 9 comes equipped with the latest suite of safety and driver assistance systems, known as Hyundai Smart Sense.
Airbags: A total of 10 airbags, including a front airbag between the front seats and airbags in all three rows of seats.
Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS): Among the most important functions are:
- FCA-JX (Forward Collision Avoidance Assist Junction Turning): Assistance for avoiding collisions, including when turning at junctions.
- LFA (Lane Following Assist): Lane centering system.
- HDA level 2 (Highway Driving Assist): Advanced assistance for highway driving.
- BVM (Blind-Spot View Monitor): Real-time display of the blind spot on the driver's screen.
- RSPA 2 (Remote Smart Parking Assist): Remote smart parking system.
- PCA (Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist): Assistance for avoiding parking collisions (front, rear, side).
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is not just a simple electric SUV; it is a statement of intent from the Korean manufacturer, offering a complete package that brings the luxury, space and technology of the future to the present.
